The National Curriculum for Primary Schools

The curriculum for Kingsland Church of England Primary School, introduced in September 2014, ensures that all aspects of the revised Primary National Curriculum will be taught.

There is a rolling programme for History, Geography and Science to ensure that each child will eventually learn all topics even though the children are taught in mixed year groups for these subjects.

Skills, knowledge and understanding are taught in Art and Design, Computing, Design and Technology, French, Music and PE with progressively more challenging expectations.  When possible, links are made between topics to make learning memorable and coherent.

RE is taught in line with the Herefordshire Agreed Syllabus.

The Early Years Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage underpins the learning experiences of children starting school.  It cover the specific areas of Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
