My name is Sue Green and I have been teaching in Class One for eleven years, having transferred from a school in Hereford where I had experience teaching Years R, 1 and 2. My specialism is Early Years and my experience spans nearly 25 years starting when I used to be Supervisor at a pre-school alongside tutoring on courses for adults working in Childcare and Education. My other responsibility is that of Special Educational Needs and managing their provision. My love of children and enthusiasm for learning spreads to my own personal learning journey; I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Special and Inclusive Education and am also qualified to assess and diagnose children with Specific Learning Difficulties.
Both the children and myself are very well supported by Tracy Davis (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) and we make a very good team. Tracy originally qualified as an NNEB and has more recently completed a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
Class One epitomises the staff within. It is bright, cheerful, slightly cluttered, full of learning opportunities and lots of fun. We pride ourselves on our role play areas which have included travelling around the world in a Space Rocket and a Pirate Ship. Stories are brought to life and children are encouraged to explore and investigate with lots of messy play. Each child that crosses Class one's threshold comes with a family and we feel that it is important to build relationships between school and home that will continue to develop as the children progress through their learning journey.
